“Clean Campsite, Clear Conscience”

A common problem in several national parks is the unintended feeding of wildlife, sometimes turning into a negative experience by campers when their campsite is looted by bears or food stolen by raccoons. It might sound entertaining but humans feeding wild animals—either purposefully or indirectly—can cause a disruption of the food chain and effect ecosystems.

A team was brought together to study behavior communications and try to affect change. I was brought on to create the visual “theme” of the campaign consisting of sandwich boards, rack cards, POS displays, permanent signage, flyers, and more that had to work across several parks with varying wildlife.

While the National Parks are celebrating 150 years of service, we thought a vintage direction may attract and hold visitor attention longer than the usual corporate look, while maintaining the NPS brand.
