What is Branding

What is
’Branding’?

Your ‘brand’ is the world
that your identity lives in.

It speaks before you do, so it’s important that it conveys the right message. That message is your “brand promise” and can describe product quality, customer service, or your values.

Thoughtful, holistic branding takes into consideration the entire customer journey—from an initial email, store signage, or advertisement—to a hang tag on a clothing item or thank you receipt. A comprehensive branding project also takes into account industry and competitor research performed during the creative discovery phase. Learn more about our creative process by clicking here.

Brand consistency can increase revenue by over 23%, and 55% of consumers are more likely to buy a product if they love the brand story.

Parts of a Brand Include:

  • This is your “identifier” or how customers recognize your distinct business. Multiple versions of your logo should be supplied so that every use case is taken into consideration whether large or small.

  • Your brand colors evoke an emotion, whether that’s calm and soothing, or bright and energetic.

  • Fonts that match your logo and overall business tone.

  • Additional elements that add personality to your brand and create a memorable experience. This could be a character mascot, illustration, pattern, or lettering.

  • This is your core repeated copy (think tagline) that solidifies your brand promise. “Handmade in the USA” or “Supporting local businesses since 1987” are examples, but your copy should be as personalized as possible.

Why be boring when you
can be memorable?
